Where is the festival being held?
We are located at Portland Square on the University of Plymouth campus. The building is across the road from Clever Estate Agents and Student Lettings, next to Sherwell Centre.
What are the opening hours for the event?
We are open from 10 AM to 40 PM, across both dates of this weekend-long event.
How can I buy tickets?
Tickets are available on our Eventbrite site, however these are not mandatory. We recommend all highlighted lecture talks and workshops in our full programme be prebooked with Eventbrite to avoid missing out once we’re full. Walk-ins are welcome throughout the event for all book talks and kids activities.
Is the festival accessible?
Yes, our venue is wheelchair accessible. Please contact us in advance if you have specific accessibility needs.
How can I get involved in this years festival?
You are welcome to contact the event director at [email protected] to volunteer or suggest activities you would like to provide for the event.
Do I need to print out my tickets?
You are not required to print out tickets, but we appreciate printouts or tickets on your phone when you arrive for the events to enter quickly.
Is parking available at the venue?
Paid parking and public transport links are available – we are located in the heart of the city centres so there are several public car parks within walking distance of Portland Square.
Is there an age limit for the event?
Absolutely not! Everyone is welcome to attend the Plymouth Literary Festival, except pets (not including service dogs). For out family-friendly activities, we only require a parent/guardian to be present with the child throughout the duration of the sessions.
Is food and drink available at the venue?
Due to our central location, there is a variety of nearby restaurants, cafes and bars if you wish to go offsite during the event. We also have a coffee and pastry van on-site for the duration of the festival.
Can local businesses get involved or sponsor events?
Absolutely! We love working with local businesses and community partners who share our passion for creativity and connection. There are many ways to get involved — from sponsoring the event, hosting activities, or joining us as a stall-holder.
